Modern technology and innovation
To achieve precise dimensions and high surface quality, the tubes are processed by cold drawing. Before the drawing itself, one end of the tube must be reduced by pointing so that the tube can be drawn through a die. Pointing is followed by pickling, during which oxides are removed from the tube surface and a soap coating is applied. The drawing process itself is carried out on drawing benches. This process improves the dimensional characteristics of the tubes but deforms the material structure, which must be restored by heat treatment. The tubes are then straightened, cut to the required length, and subjected to non-destructive testing. Depending on their intended use, the tubes may subsequently be preserved or galvanized.
