Continuously cast steel billets
Steel billets and blooms are the input material for the production of seamless tubes. In addition to tube manufacturing, they can also be used for the production of other steel semi-finished products by hot forming (rolling, forging, pressing, etc.). Steel billets are produced with either square or round cross-sections.
All steels are cast in a fully killed condition. The chemical composition of the steels complies with the respective standards and steel grades.

Delivery condition and surface condition of steel billets
Billets are not heat-treated after casting. The surface condition corresponds to the casting method and complies with the provisions included in the agreed technical delivery specifications.

Lengths of steel billets
Billets and blooms are supplied in lengths of 4,000–10,000 mm with a length tolerance of +50 mm. Straightness deviation is 1% of the length. The squareness deviation of the end face is 5°.
Loading of steel billets
Square billets – stacked in layers
Round billets – placed on special wooden supports or strapped with steel bands.
Marking of steel billets
Each billet is marked with the heat number, steel grade code, and casting strand number. The information is stamped or, by agreement, written with indelible paint on the end face of the billet.
