As part of the employee social programme, we have established an auxiliary works and activities centre for employees with altered working abilities, where approximately 50 employees have been centralised. The Company appreciates that the fulfilment of the strategic vision is impossible without targeted training of its future workforce. Therefore, the Company pays maximum attention to the general and professional education of its future employees – metallur- gists, electricians, and mechanics – in the Private Secondary Apprentice School of Metallurgy in Lopej. After graduating in 2006, 57 graduates were hired at Železiarne Podbrezová a.s. In 2007, 77 new apprentices are expected to begin employment, and we will have the opportunity to employ a further 80 to 100 young people in the future. We are aware of the fact that we are nurturing our future employees and that it is impossible to wait only for those unique ones, and, instead, it is our mission to assist all of them in becoming unique for the Company. On 1 September 2006, based on the decision of the Ministry of Education of the SR we opened the first school year of our Private Secondary Grammar School aimed at sports. In the school year 2008/2009, we plan to enlarge the school by another class focused on informatics. of employees in 2006 of employees in 2006
