The company is most accessible, being aware that communication with employees and with the outside world is one of the pillars supporting success of the company. Of great help in this respect is an in-house periodical, the bi-weekly Podbrezovan, celebrating in 2005 its 60th anniversary of non-stop issue making it the oldest in Slovakia. Also the in-house radio plays such an important role broadcasting every day. Recently, however, new forms of communication have gained importance. New information strategy of the company is based on internet and intranet technologies, providing information by means of www tools and by e-mail. Železiarne Podbrezová, being the most important regional employer, must also adopt duties pertaining to the state, or to other social institutions and associations. Willingness to help the region in areas that lack finance from state are made visible by the foundation of Železiarne Podbrezová, contributing to education, health care, social care, culture and sport have been demonstrated through contributions of more than five million SKK in belief that such funds will help to overcome the critical period and to eliminate partly financial problems of the people in need. 500 thous.
